The administration enticed students into participating by promising to reveal the identity of the 2016 commencement speaker after 300 participants used the hashtag. This proved to be an easy feat, and Dr. Cheryl L. Dorsey, a Harvard trained physician was announced as the speaker in the early afternoon. To read more about Dr. Dorsey, check out the article about her on the HWS website

The administration also promised to have President Gearan serve free ice cream in the Scandling Center if the HWS Colleges twitter and Instagram accounts acquired 150 new followers.  Once again, the students pulled through, and President Gearan threw on a hat and got to scooping!

When it came to encouraging school spirit and creating a friendly competition, #HWSDay was an overwhelming success! Be sure to check out the winning photos here
