Subzero tempertatures this past week have caused the very top of Seneca Lake to freeze over.  Did you know the last time Seneca Lake completely froze, from Geneva to Watkins Glen, was in 1912? Making this the Contennial year of the last total-freeze.  In fact, there are only four times in recorded history that Seneca Lake has fully frozen over: 1855, 1875, 1885, and 1912!  It is very difficult for Seneca Lake to freeze completely because it is the deepest lake in the state of New York.  Keeping our fingers UN-crossed for the oppertunity to walk down the lake to Watkins Glen this winter!!
