The Chinese New Year began on Tuesday, February 5th, and marked the start of the Year of the Pig.  This festival is commonly known as the Lunar New Year since it follows the lunar calendar. The New Year is based on the movement of the moon, and thus the date changes from year to year. On this exciting day, the Year of the Pig began. The pig represents good fortune, often through wealth, luck, honesty, and prosperity. Personally, I am a huge pig lover and am excited for a year full of pigs. Many brands have hopped on the bandwagon to promote the Chinese New Year by releasing products relating to the pig. While many designer brands released products that cost well into the thousands of dollars, here are a few more affordable options to fulfill your Chinese New Year needs.

Everyone is aware of the stunning Becca glow that comes from all of their highlighter products. This Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter provides a soft, peachy-pink glow and includes a pressed Lunar New Year pig right in the center. Plus, it is the same price as any of their other highlighter products. I definitely can appreciate a company that doesn’t jack up the cost of their collection products.

Starbucks has released a “Happy Piggy Year” series, with some of the cutest ceramic mugs, travel mugs, cups, and tumblers to choose from. With 21 different products, everyone will find a cup from this line that satisfies their needs. Plus, who wouldn’t want to get that Starbucks refill price in their cute pig mug?

While slightly on the pricier side, this Pandora charm is adorable. Pandora rings and bracelets hold up incredibly well and you will have the products for years, so this charm is definitely worth the investment if you like it.

While we have yet to see this in the United States, Sephora has released a Lunar New Year makeup line with a brush holder, brushes, and an eyeshadow palette. However, they have been dropping hints that it might be available soon so make sure to keep your eyes out. I mean, who doesn’t want a brush shaped like a pig nose?

DKNY, among many brands, have released shirts with cartoon pigs across them. However, thankfully, this one will not break your budget. This shirt is perfect for a cozy day when you want to throw on leggings and a tee while still supporting pigs. Plus, it is currently on sale for 50% off!

Toms, everyone’s favorite slip-on shoe, has released their classic model with pig designs covering the canvas. With one design blush pink and the other white, these are the perfect shoes to wear in the springtime. Plus, they released fuzzy slip-ons for the little ones, which would be super cute for a toddler on Easter.

While this does not have direct pig-related aspect to the product, you can never go wrong with a high quality face mask. This one will be sure to make your skin feel lifted and firm, and is a beautiful gold color.

Benefit has released three pig-shaped tins filled with miniature versions of three of their products. The best part about these gifts is there are three different boxes to choose from, each containing different products. This way, you can pick which box contains your favorites or possibly new products you have been dying to try!

BONUS: GUCCI Oversize T-Shirt with Piglet

While this is definitely not affordable, GUCCI has released a Chinese New Year collection with purses, wallets, and apparel. This shirt is super cute and is one of my favorite pieces of the collection. While I could never afford this, the t-shirt is definitely beautiful to view from afar.
