They’ll also be essential to your success and straight A’s during your college semester. All you need is motivation, creativity, a few materials, and you’ll be set!

DIY 1: Budget Friendly Vanity Mirror

Everyone loves good lighting for their Instagram selfies. Does your dorm have dull lighting? You can make your own vanity mirror with just two items:

What you’ll need:

  • Mirror (any size, any shape of your choice)

  • Stick-on LED mirror lights (can be found on Amazon.com for around $20)

  3. Peel off the sticker located on the bottom of the stick-on LED light.

  4. Place the light on its desired position, adjust to your liking.

  5. Place the mirror on your desk or onto your wall, enjoy!

DIY 2: Paint Chip Calendar

A calendar– but make it aesthetic and cheap! Why buy a basic and boring calendar when you can create your own? This “paint chip” calendar can be customized to your preferences and very useful for keeping your days organized! Paint chips are free at your local Walmart, Home Depot, or Lowes.

Here’s how to make one of your own:

DIY 3: Wall-hanging planner

Be organized with assignments and make sure to turn them in on time! With this wall-hanging planner, you are able to customize every bit. Just find a 7 space frame, paper, and expo markers. These 7 spaces resemble 7 days of the week. Simply write down assignment due dates throughout the week.

DIY 4: Mason Jar holders

Mason jars should be a staple. They’re perfect for everything and are especially useful for holding pens and makeup brushes. Organize your desk with a few mason jars. Basic mason jars are cute as is, but you have an array of options to change them to your liking. You are able to paint them to match a theme, bedazzle them, or throw on some glitter.

I’ve had bunches of mason jars that line up in the back of my desk. They’re all labeled with what goes inside and spray painted a shiny gold to match the theme of my room. It’s affordable and lasts for years!

It’s totally a great way to upcycle the jar and turn something from bleak to chic.
