Hollywood has created a false illusion that spring break is a time of partying on the beach for a week straight at a luxury resort that is somehow totally feasible on any college budget. While this may be true for some people, it’s not the case for everyone – but it’s still totally possible to have a fantastic break, wherever you are!
1. Take a trip to the movies
Going to the movies by myself is totally my guilty pleasure – two long, peaceful, interrupted hours of alone time, plus snacks! What could be better? The movies can be a great way to take a quick break from daily life, either by yourself or with some friends!
2. Pick up a few extra shifts
This may sound like a total drag – but those 9 days off from school can be a great opportunity to make some extra cash without exhausting yourself in the process.
3. Take a night to yourself – RELAX
Sometimes the simplest relaxing evenings can be a perfect mini vacay – put on a movie, grab some popcorn and a cozy blanket, and veg out!
4. Check out your town’s tourist attractions
Sometimes it’s possible to become immune to the beauty of our own hometown. Whether you live in Honolulu, Hawaii or Boise, Idaho, there’s definitely some attractions in your town worth checking out. Plus, it’s fun to play tourist for a day!
Whatever your adventure, don’t feel like you’re left out of the party just because you’re not traveling for spring break. Take advantage of the down time and CHILLAX!
