Success at Howard with Kamaron Leach

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Howard chapter.

Kamaron Leach, sophomore Broadcast Journalism major from Atlanta, GA, and future media mogul is leading the way for several black males looking for guidance. With a business under his belt, good grades and impressive social standing on campus, Kamaron Leach is what we call a Campus Celebrity. He does it all from hosting parties to founding organizations on campus. He is looking to set a good example and make everlasting changes on Howard’s campus. And ladies, he is also looking for a girlfriend!

What organizations and/or clubs are you involved in around campus?

I am a Howard University Campus Pals, a former member of Freshman Leadership Academy, Director of Communications Howard University Student Association, Golf Tournament Coordinator & Development and Fundraising Assistant for Howard University Homecoming Committee, Proud member of Annenberg Honors Program, Howard University Georgia Club, 2011-12 Bison Ball Committee, National Association of Black Journalism, Mentor, oh and Founder of Howard University Blue Crew.

What other interests do you have and what do you do in your free time?

I like to kick it with my friends, laugh and have a good time. I am a very social individual. And I also like to host events. I love to play basketball and skate too.

What are your plans for the future?

Eventually, I plan to be a media mogul and plan to own my own television network and radio station. But, right out of college, I plan to become a radio personality and transition into the television.

Speaking of media moguls, can you tell me what exactly is the Kamaron Leach Media Group?

So, basically I began my first company in the 11th grade and I was only 17 and I got it legalized as a Limited Liability Corporation. It was first incorporated as the Kamaron Leach Company LLC, then it underwent a name change to Kamaron Leach Media Group and basically it is a video production company and I want it to grow as I progress.

How would you like to be remembered on Howard’s Campus?

Um, I would love to be remembered as one of the greatest to touch campus, a mentor, an achiever, someone who gave back and still progress in life. You know, to be eventually be studied.

Do you have any words of advice or encouragement?

Well, what I first would say is we need more young black men in college and those who are in college, we should reach out. We just need support from the African-American committee. Everything is about networking and branding yourself, be humble and be consistent.
