The long standing rivalry between Howard and Hampton once again took form in a Basketball double header yesterday, February 8, 2016 in Burr Gymnasium. Burr was packed with both Howard Bison and Hampton Pirates in anticipation for the night’s events. The women’s game, which started at 6pm, ended with an 83-77 Bison victory, during overtime. The win, once again showed Hampton who the Real HU is.
With this victory, the energy in the gymnasium was intoxicating. Between Showtime (the marching band), the dancers, and the Djs, the student body was ready for a double win. Unfortunately, with 1 minute left in the game, the male bison allowed the Hampton Pirates to make a 3 point shot that cost Howard the win. The score, 65-68.
