What Is Next For Taylor Swift?

A question that every girl thinks about is what’s next for Taylor Swift? After the success of her tenth studio album The Life of a Showgirl, Taylor kept busy in her personal life. She got married to one of the most talented NFL players, Travis Kelce, at the most famous arena in the United States, Madison Square Garden. Although she has laid low in her music career since her latest album, she surprised the Swifties with a special appearance on the Toy Story 5 soundtrack with her hit song “I Knew It, I Knew You.”

“I Knew It, I Knew You,” brought Taylor back to her country roots by including instruments such as a harmonica and guitar. Most people were surprised to hear this sound from her, since we have not gotten a country song since her album Red. In the past week, it was announced that Taylor was nominated for “Single of the Year” at Country Music Awards. She writes in an Instagram story, “Looks like I have yee’d my last haw.” This post confirms that she will be in attendance at the show.

Additionally, the Emmys were last night with celebrity host Mariska Hargitay, famously known as Olivia Benson in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. At the beginning of the show, a SUV sketch played with other cast members, such as Ice-T, solving a case: will Taylor be at the Emmys? Taylor herself makes a special appearance in this sketch where she breaks the fourth wall and states, “Saccharide, Aries, from the vineyard, north or south,” before denying that she said anything. This has fans speculating if these are Easter eggs for an upcoming project, or more specifically a new re-recording. Therefore, if we tie in her return to country music, listing things that could be potentially unreleased track titles, and the language of “yee’d my last haw,” I think what is next for Taylor is clear: Debut (Taylor’s Version) is on the way.

Hi! My name is Deirdre Mitchell and I’m from Ardmore, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia. I graduated from Academy of Notre Dame in Radnor, Pennsylvania in June of 2024, and I look forward to continuing my academic career here at Holy Cross. I love spending time with others, specially my family and friends. In high school, I was a competition dancer, which definitely took up a lot of my time. Also, I always had a very big interest in writing, so I look forward to continue in HerCampus!
