As we all know, the dreaded finals week is upon us. After a restful Thanksgiving, it is time for the final push to get us to the end of the semester. These next couple of weeks are going to be a struggle between all of the last minute homework assignments, quizzes, presentations, or exams before we have finals, but it is important to not take this time for granted.
We only have so much time as students here at Holy Cross; it might not seem like it now but the years blow by before we even know it. I think that in the midst of the stress of finals week, it is crucial to remember how lucky we are to have the opportunity to live the college experience. Although it is tempting to wish away all of the hours of studying we need to accomplish and skip to the end of our exams, that would mean skipping through precious time we have left at Holy Cross. These years are fleeting, and it’s easy to get caught up in the stress and deadlines and forget to live in the moment. Every lecture, late-night study session, and conversation with friends is part of the unique experience of being a student here.
Although I am very excited for Christmas break to begin, I am sad to say goodbye to all of my wonderful friends here at Holy Cross. Over the past semester, we have had such an amazing time together, that even leaving for a short break reminds me how much I value my friendships and connections I have made here.
As finals week approaches, remember to cherish every moment!
