Tired of Kimball food? Need an idea for a fun girls night? I’ve got you covered. A great way to spend time with your friends and to get a break from dining hall food is to DIY a cheese board in your dorm, and it’s a lot easier than you think. The first thing you need to do is go to your favorite grocery store and get the supplies you need. My friends and I love Trader Joes, so that is where we got most of our food from. Here is a lay out of the food we got for our board:

Crackers and Bread

Pita crackers

Sliced Baguettes

Club crackers

Wheat Thins

Cheese

Burrata

Brie

Sharp Cheddar

Boursin Garlic and Fine Herbs

Miscellaneous

Italian meats like salami, prosciutto, etc.

Olives (for a savory bite)

Strawberries and chocolate covered blueberries (for a sweet bite)

Fig Spread and Pepper Jelly

After we got our ingredients my friends and I placed a piece of tin foil on our coffee table as the base, and went to town decorating. It ended up being super cute and was relatively inexpensive, as we split it between a bunch of girls. Also, if you want even more food you could do what we did and do it on a Tuesday so you can get the 2 for the price of 1 deal on Volturno’s pizzas. Delicious!
