In my leopard print Betsey Johnson backpack you can find my Kate Spade 2016 agenda, “Dot your i’s and cross your t’s” pencil pouch, plenty of sassy notebooks and folders, possibly a few books…and, of course, the latest edition of InStyle Mag.  This read is pure pleasure to me; an on trend” avoider myself, the editors of this fashion mag present what is of the moment in a surprising, fresh, unique way that feel special and go far beyond basic.  Gaining inspiration from magazines, sites you travel to, fabrics your feel, paintings that evoke emotion in you, is a major factor in shaping your own style; what makes your look unique is how you assemble this puzzle of utter inspiration!  How you accessorize, add-on, bedazzle, button-up, etc etc etc!

Out on stands right now is a special Fashion-Insider Issue offering InStyle readers the top 100 trend pics for fall; I went through the expansive list and boiled it down to ten MAJOR trends of the moment that InStyle, and myself, believe you ought to try this fall; I provide you with their general tips and add my own options & photographs for your personal inspiration, as well.  These trends exude timeless autumnal style in their warm burgundies and crisp leathers, yet their essence is extremely individualistic, current, and has the ability to turn major heads!

1.     Woah There! Wool Maxi

Maxi dresses are no longer solely for the summer!  Let your dress go lengthy this season with a floor or calf-grazing style in cozy wool or cashmere.  InStyle suggests opting for neutral tones when rocking this bold look; I suggest pairing midi-length dresses with your fave auburn leather booties, or orange suede flats with those styles that graze the floor, for a fall look that is cozy & exudes confidence!

2. Outerwear Upgrade: Warmth by Wool

As the temperature heads south, avoid reaching for your basic fleece to keep warm- instead, InStyle tells readers to consider investing in a super-hip, super-cozy poncho-inspired overcoat.  The structure of this otherwise free-flowing look keeps it from swallowing your frame, while the opportunity to go bold with color-blocking or simple with creme and beige expresses your personal style mantra.  Pair with a feminine long-sleeve dress or frilly skirt, that peers out from underneath the coat, and knee highs with luxe boots for an elegant, sophisticated ensemble!

3. Blushing for BLUSH

Absolutely BEAMED when I saw that, according to InStyle, pink is a total “do” this beautiful Autumn (regardless I would have been wearing the sassy shade day in and day out)!  The color makes a hard shift in gear from this summer’s hot and watermelon shades, to a more subdued, classic, sophisticated blush.  InStyle snags some shorts of runway designers working this lighter pink into their collections in a sleek yet lined-trench and city-goers toting blush (p)leather satchels; I say give these options a try, or opt for a faux fur cardigan and flattering & feminine wool a-line skirt!

4. Bangs are Bangin’

Looking to switch up your look significantly for the start of the season?!  InStyle suggests that one of this seasons hair-do’s is the BANG, and I totally agree.  Be bold &  spontaneous next time you’re sitting at the salon; ask your hairdresser to keep the look fringey so as to avoid overpowering your beautiful face this fall!

5.  Day to Night & Back Again

My favorite trend on InStyle’s List is undoubtedly #86: “Mix Night and Day”.  This trend is anything but basic; it essentially fuses together your favorite items from daytime-wear layers with your signature dazzling evening pieces into one powerhouse ensemble of GLAM.  Do not steer clear of from stilettos or wild wedges, instead, rock them with denim culottes, or try a blush trencoat covering a sequined turtleneck with  cuffed skinny-khakies and tweed flats.  Glitter and wool; suede and silk; cotton and faux-fur are all mismatched fabrics in theory that completely WORK in execution.  This look needs no explanation & neither do you; you rock it, stylin’ sista!!

6. Accessorizing your Coat

This trend is accessible from any and every style angle; whether you are a total prepster or a mild hipster, working a belt around your lengthy jacket accentuates your waist, adds shape, and has the potential to feature a MAJOR pop of color underneath!  Simply leave the buttons undone for a peak of what is to come: major fall FASHION in a bold midi shift dress!

7.  Color Me Crazy

Burgundy and beige aren’t the only ones having the fun this fall: vivid, bold color is IN & my GOODNESS does that make this color-crazed chick ecstatic!  InStyle offers reader “power couple” color combinations that make a statement: try working pastel purple with fiery red pants or a lemon yellow with sophisticated blush.  Color blocking just got a whole new level of FABULOUS.

8. Wild Chick, She So Chic

Jumping for joy AGAIN as InStyle declares animal print is in & has undergone a serious upgrade.  Give zebra, leopard, even python a shot this season by mixing the prints with others that are far unlike it; think timeless tweed jacket with mini leopard dress, or python pants with wool chunky sweater.  I am *bright eyed and bushy tailed* just thinking about the possibilities with this fearless trend!

9.  Center of Attention

Give your face the attention it deserves by centering it around a statement headband in jewel tone, leather, or one adorned with a bold brooch.  Messy hair day? Even better!! Carefree bun meets face-framing sophistication with this trend.

10. Blow Me a Cherry-Stained Kiss

Lipstick lovers and chapstick choosers alike, I want to finish this list with a trend that some might think is too far-fetched, but InStyle and myself think you can rock unlike the rest!  Try a bold, deep cherry lip this fall to complete any and every look you assemble; the dark tone compliments every skin tone and shade of orange, burgundy, and camel that you are not only wearing, but OWNING, this fall! #pce & #pout

This article is unaffiliated with InStyle Magazine in any way, yet I credit the magazine with all of the trends I adored & chose to feature, here!
