As the weather begins to change, the leaves turn different colors, and we all begin to settle ourselves into life on the Hill, I find myself getting excited for the fall festivities underway. It tends to take me a couple of weeks after moving back into school to regain my footing and really get back into the swing of things. This year in particular, I have committed myself to a lot of extracurricular opportunities, making my already busy schedule even more hectic. At the same time, I do love keeping myself busy and engaging both on campus and in the broader Worcester community.
Looking ahead, I cannot wait for the continuation of fall weather and all the festivities that come with it. One of the biggest highlights of fall semester is Family Weekend, which is coming at the end of this week. I absolutely love watching my family interact with my friends and their families. Given that I live at school for a majority of the year, my friends here have become family, and it is so special having a weekend where both parts of my lives can be shared in the same space.
Once family weekend passes, my attention turns towards other fall activities, such as chillier weather walks, apple picking, pumpkin spice coffee runs, scary movies, and Halloween costume planning.
While these activities may seem simple, they are truly what makes Holy Cross home. Being able to share the changing of seasons alongside people I have come to know closely is an experience I do not take for granted. A quick coffee run can turn into an hour-long catch up, a walk around campus can turn into an impromptu study break, and an evening of scary movies can turn into the best memories.
