In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, Ashley Bunici (one of my very best friends and one of Her Campus’ most dedicated members) set up a collaboration with Pink Gloves Boxing. Pink Gloves Boxing is an all-female boxing organization across colleges in the United States, and has semester long classes at Holy Cross!

Upon arrival, we began by stretching and warming up. Next, we learned the fighter stance and first two punches. We played a very fun name game, which helped us get to know each other better while practicing the moves.

Following this we got the privilege of putting on gloves (provided by the Pink Gloves), and learned a third punch. We paired up with one another and practiced perfecting our punches, then moved onto group workouts. For the first station, we practiced our new moves on a punching bag. Following this we practiced with the instructor. Next up we practiced shadowboxing in front of the mirror. The last two stations were some light conditioning exercises, and footwork on the ladder.

Overall, I absolutely loved this class and cannot wait to sign up to take classes weekly next semester! I would definitely recommend Pink Gloves to any woman who asked, and thought it was a great experience.
