How to Have Fun on Valentine’s Day When You’re Single

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Holy Cross chapter.

Calling all the single ladies! (All the single ladies!) Strapped for things to do on
Valentine’s day? If so, don’t worry, because I have 9 ways for you to celebrate V-Day—
no valentine required. If you like any of these ideas down below feel free to put a ring on
them.

1. Chick flicks & Chick Fil A or Chipotle (or your favorite comfort food
of choice)

Order your favorite meal and cozy up under a blanket! What better way to spend
Valentine’s Day than treating yourself?

2. Host a spa night

Decompress and show your skin some love with an at-home spa night. At the very least you’ll
wake up with fresh, glowy skin.

3. GET YOUR YOGA FLOW ON

By the time you’re done with your practice, you won’t even remember your relationship status
‘cause you’ll be feeling so good!

4. volunteer somewhere

Helping others is a great way to boost your mood and make a positive impact on someone
else’s day. And, it’ll put a smile on someones face!

5. Go on a solo shopping spree

Even just window shopping can have you feeling the effects of some good ol’ retail therapy. A
splurge every once and a while will have you feeling brand new!

6. treat yourself to a dinner date

Order your favorite meal or cook something new! Whether ordering your favorite dish, trying a
new cuisine, or attempting to make sushi, perhaps you’ll find something new you’ll love.

7. tap into a creative outlet

Whether it’s journaling, singing, or what have you, letting your creative juices flow is a great way
to pass the time and express yourself.

8. buy yourself some flowers

Buy your favorite flowers and create your own arrangement to display. Show off your creative
designs!

9. spend time with the people you love

While spending time with yourself can be empowering, hanging out with people you care about
like family and friends can cheer you up and remind you that you are not alone. Valentine’s Day
isn’t just about buying flowers and chocolates for a significant other, its about loving yourself and
those around you.
