There were no Sunday Scaries this past weekend for music fans thanks to the 66th annual Grammy Awards. This highly anticipated award show did not disappoint thanks to several icons. Here were my top 5 standout celebrities of the night.

5. Meryl Streep

  • Meryl started the show off with a fashionably late grand entrance that only an icon like her could get away with. The actress attended to support her son-in-law Mike Ronson, but when they presented together on stage, all eyes were on the queen of Mamma Mia.

4. Trevor Noah

  • There’s a reason this comedian was invited back for the fourth time. All of his jokes landed, at least in my opinion, and none of them were at the expense of successful women… Take notes, Jo King.

3. Miley Cyrus

  • The inner Hannah Montana fan in me was over the moon to see her win her first Grammy. The singer’s acceptance speech was candid and authentic, which is why we love her. Miley’s performance of the award-winning song, “Flowers”, was even more entertaining, notably when she changed the lyric from “I can buy myself flowers” to “I just won my first Grammy!” PS. I and the rest of the internet are waiting for you to drop the workout routine, Ms. Cyrus.

2. SZA

  • Another artist who was not afraid to show her colors was SZA. She blew the crowd away with her vocals and choreography for her smash hit “Kill Bill”, and she had one of the most adorable acceptance speeches of the night. She started by running onto the stage from backstage, then embracing her long-time friend Lizzo who held her award, and reminisced on how far the two of them have come in the industry. Her most relatable moment, though, was when she looked at Taylor Swift in the middle of her speech and said, “Hi Taylor” while crying.
  1. Taylor Swift
  • To be fair, Taylor Swift will be at the top of my list no matter what the ranking is, but I think I speak for most viewers when I say she was the moment. I, and the rest of Swifties, went into the night convinced that we had outsmarted the mastermind that is Taylor Swift by preparing for the announcement of Reputation (Taylor’s Version)– the highly anticipated re-recording of her 2017 album. Nothing could have prepared us for the unbelievable news that her next studio album called The Tortured Poets Department is coming on April 19th. This album is expected to share the details of her breakup with her long-time boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. April can’t come soon enough!!
