Fall Must Haves From Trader Joes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Holy Cross chapter.

It’s officially fall and that means it’s time to break out all the seasonal snacks! Trader Joe’s just released their new autumn inspired items, and they do not disappoint. To welcome in the spooky season, the shelves are stocked full of assorted pumpkin, apple, and butternut squash goodies. While some favorites from last year have made a reappearance they’ve also added some new items to the mix. With all this variety it can be hard to know what’s worth it, here are my top picks for welcoming in the holidays.

Pumpkin Overnight Oats

These pumpkin overnight oats are not only a great quick and easy breakfast but are a healthy go to. With nutritious oats for fiber, they are sure to keep you full and ready to start the day. Overnight oats are super easy to store in a dorm fridge and small enough to take on the go in your backpack. They come in so many flavors so if pumpkin is not necessarily your favorite Trader Joes has plenty of other options to choose from.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Spread

Trader Joes’ new pumpkin cream cheese is a bagel lover’s dream. A bagel is nothing without its equally as important spread, and this pumpkin cream cheese is definitely as perfect as it sounds. This is another great way to incorporate fall into your breakfast and will take up minimal room in your microfridge.

Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese

This butternut squash mac & cheese is easily one of the best things to hit the frozen foods section. Not only does it taste great but it’s also a super easy way to incorporate vegetables into your diet which can be especially challenging if you’re a college student on a budget. It’s incredibly easy to store and the prep time is short so there’s no excessive cook time. The blend of three kinds of cheese (cheddar, gouda, and parmesan) make a creamy sauce that is literal heaven.

Pumpkin Bread & Muffin Mix

Remember the iconic banana bread? Well pumpkin bread is the new spin off and it’s just as delicious. It requires minimal effort to bake and the simple ingredients make it super easy to whip up on your own. If you’re not feeling pumpkin bread the mix also works for muffins too. This is a great dish to bake for Thanksgiving or even for a midnight snack if you’re looking for something sweet.
