As I begin my senior year of college at Holy Cross, I’ve been testing out different recipes to cook. It can be tricky being a full time student and also doing “adult” things. I wanted to share some easy cooking ideas that I have tried before! Sometimes it can be hard to think of simple recipes to cook, so here are some that I like to make.

I love making grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup! I usually get the soup pre-made, and grilled cheeses are so easy to make! I usually use sharp cheddar cheese, butter the bread before, and add a bit of garlic for some seasoning.

Anything with ground beef is super convenient. I usually have leftovers, and ground beef doesn’t take skill to cook. Burger bowls or Mexican bowls with ground beef are great options. The bottom of the bowl can have rice and then whatever toppings or sauces you want! The trick is to season your beef well so it doesn’t taste too dry.

Stir fry noodles is another good one. This sounds complicated, but is actually super easy! If you buy some type of Asian noodles and any pre chopped veggies, then you are all set to go. Make sure you have soy sauce, sesame oil, and any other seasonings you may like.

The air fryer is a life saver for quick meals! It cooks so fast, and you can honestly put anything in it. Veggies, such as broccoli, are my favorite. Also, if you are nervous about cooking meats, such as chicken, the air fryer is great to do that! Most have a setting to cook meat on so you don’t have to worry about cooking it for the right amount of time.
