Easy Halloween Decorations for your Dorm

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Holy Cross chapter.

It’s that time of year! Halloween is just around the corner, and I have 7 easy, affordable ideas to decorate your house or dorm with Halloween spirit! I wouldn’t consider myself the most crafty, so I made sure these ideas were simple to execute and a fun activity to get ready for the holiday!

Candy Wreath

Who said wreaths were just for Christmas time?! If you are looking to go the more sweet as opposed to spooky route, this is a great way to colorfully deck out your door!

Monster Door

This is more of a playful, fun take on decorating. Using a feather boa and some plastic fangs, this concept is a unique way to add some character to your door without scaring away your neighbors and trick-or-treaters!

Broomstick Door

This unique, farmhouse aesthetic is a less traditional, yet tasteful way to add some character to your door!

Painted Pumpkins

Decorating pumpkins is a classic Halloween activity. Who said you have to stick with the traditional black and orange color scheme? If you are looking for new ways to add a little pumpkin spice to your decorations, this is a perfect way to bring some light to the room and won’t be as messy as carving!

Pumpkin Flower Vase

Forget a glass vase! Pumpkins are more versatile than one would think! This is a great way to incorporate more color and dimension to a table setting or even a great gift. Whether you want to keep your bouquet understated or really over the top, this is a great concept to get creative and personalize it with your favorite colors and flowers!

Emoji Balloons

You won’t be getting any Boos on this decoration! This concept is very simple to make! All you need are white balloons, tissues, and some markers.

Mini Gourds in a Jar

This concept is very tasteful and understated. Whether you want to go for a more elegant all-white look or brighten it up with some autumn colors, this is a perfect way to add some flare to a living room or dining room table.
