Dylan Mulvaney: The Icon At The Grammys

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Holy Cross chapter.

Dylan Mulvaney made her award show debut on Sunday night at the Grammys, and she looked absolutely stunning. Her chic red dress with a tasteful cutout and matching gloves was a timeless look that looked amazing on her. Dylan wore a bold red lip and a dramatic cat eye that demanded attention. She showed up and slayed the red carpet.

Dylan is a social media icon with 10.6 million followers on TikTok and 1.5 million on Instagram (as of February 8, 2023). She is best known for her Days of Girlhood series where she documents her journey as a trans-woman. Dylan has taken the world by storm and there is no sign of her stopping. She documents the good, the bad, and the ugly while maintaining a positive outlook. She is an inspiration to those in all situations. She even talked with the president about trans rights and healthcare. Dylan is truly an incredible and inspirational person.

Normally, the idea of a TikToker at a prestigious award show would make everyone roll their eyes, including myself, but with Dylan, that’s not the case with anyone. So many people supported and cheered for her, and not just her loyal fans, but also strangers. Dylan showed up, not as a social media influencer, but as a woman with a voice who is not afraid to use it.

I personally love Dylan because she makes my day everytime I watch her videos and makes me feel like my problems aren’t that big and I can accomplish them. She makes me feel like a strong, powerful woman who can blaze the way someday. I feel everyone should watch her videos because she truly is an inspiration.
