If you’re looking for books to prepare for summer reading, look no further than the Queen of the Beach Read herself, Elin Hilderbrand. Hilderbrand’s books are the epitome of the beach read, as they take place in the summer on Nantucket. Filled with romance, friendship, and more, her books are everything you want in a good summer novel. Here are three of my favorite books of hers.

“28 Summers”

28 Summers is not only my favorite Elin Hilderbrand book, but also one of my favorite books of all time. The characters and relationships, both romantic and otherwise, in these books are so authentic and easy to connect with. I think about Mallory and Jake often, which is always a sign of a great novel.

“Here’s to Us”

Here’s to Us is more of a family saga than a romance novel, but is still populated with Hilderbrand’s genuine characters and dramatic, but realistic, scenes. It’s a very touching story and one that will undoubtedly make you glad to be spending the summer with your family.

“Barefoot”

Barefoot is the first Elin Hilderbrand novel that I ever read. It hooked me from the start — not just on this book but on Hilderbrand’s work in general. It focuses on a complicated dynamic between two sisters and a friend and the adorable local boy who becomes their babysitter slash caretaker slash friend. It’s so sweet and so heartwarming and so heartbreaking and hopeful all at the same time.

Curl up in the sunshine with one of these three books and I promise you’ll never be the same.

Disclaimer: if you’re sobbing on a public beach while reading one of these, don’t say I didn’t warn you!
