My family and I have always been huge foodies — from cooking up something new in the kitchen, to becoming new regulars at local restaurants, I have always loved treating myself to some great food. Coming to Worcester as a freshman two years ago, my friends and I took it upon ourselves to find the best restaurants of all varieties. Understandably, being a college student, finding good affordable eats can definitely be tricky, but I’ve picked out some places to treat yourself and not break the bank.

Nu Kitchen

Nu Kitchen is the perfect place for a healthy lunch and a study date. It offers delicious super grain bowls, salads, and smoothies and the restaurant has a fun interior where you can bring your backpack and work while you eat. For being a chic and healthy restaurant, the prices are pretty reasonable and definitely a great way to treat yourself while you study! My personal favorite is the chipotle avocado and lime grain bowl!!

Flying Rhino

The Flying Rhino is a restaurant I have recently tried this year and only for brunch (but I hear wonderful things about the dinner and lunch menus). They offer the classic brunch plates like egg benedicts and breakfast sandwiches, but they also include some fun choices as well. Most of the menu is in the low teens for prices and everything I have tried there is delicious! I recommend picking out some dishes and splitting among friends!

Kenmore Diner

If you are looking for some classic diner breakfast food, look no further. The Kenmore Diner is a great place that offers every breakfast/brunch classic plate and offers some of the best prices as well! The setting is a very old school diner and is very fun to go with some friends on a weekend morning! Keep in mind, Kenmore is cash only so be prepared with some cash!!

Ciao Bella

I don’t know about you, but sometimes you just need some comfort Italian food and many Italian places in Worcester might hurt your wallet. Ciao Bella is a hidden gem with the absolute best Italian and one of the best Italian food prices I have seen in Worcester. It has everything from panini’s to pasta dishes to garlic bread and every single thing I have had there is 100% worth the great price. I love the fettuccine alfredo dish, but the panini’s are also fantastic!
