6 Ways To Improve Your Body Image

1. Look in the mirror and name 3 things you love about yourself:They could be completely random, like the small freckle in the shape of Africa on your left cheek or something more obvious like your eyes. Just the act of figuring out what makes you stand out will make you feel more beautiful.  

2. Invest in a piece of clothing that makes you feel like a supermodel:Take pride in what you put on your back! Sometimes it’s much better to splurge on a piece of clothing that you really love than to have more pieces of lesser quality. It’s worth it to have something that you really love and that makes you feel confident.

3. Dance it out!:When in doubt, dance it out! There is nothing that clears my head and breaks me out of a rut more than a good sing-a-long. Grab a girlfriend or dance on your own, but turn the music up loud and give it all you’ve got! Dancing is a great way to get more in tune with your self, get your blood pumping, and shake it out.

4. Dress up more than usual:As the cold weather starts to take over the Woo, it’s easy to settle into a uniform of Lulus and a Patagonia. Every girl can start to feel bad about herself when you settle into a rut. Dress up a little bit and put pride into your appearance. It always puts a little extra pep in your step!

5. Surround yourself with positive people:We are all products of our surroundings. If you’re constantly around girls that complain about their bodies, it will undoubtedly rub off on you! Stick with people who know that beauty isn’t just what you look like and encourage you to feel your best.

6. Do something nice for yourself:Treat yourself the way you deserve to be treated! Believe that you deserve to be pampered, and go for it! Hop on a shuttle to Blackstone to get your nails done, run to Sweet for Sunday brunch, or sleep in a little later than usual – whatever makes you feel your best!
