She’s the First Hofstra combined fun and philanthropy Friday (March 7), as they held their 3rd Annual Dance-a-thon at Hofstra USA.
From 6 PM to 12 AM, participants danced to the sounds of the DJ and enjoyed performances from student groups like HofBeats, IMANI Dance Ensemble, and Sigma’accapella.
Clubs, organizations and members of Greek Life set up tables selling snacks, drinks and services. STF Hofstra even sold their famous tie-dye cupcakes at the door for a dollar each.
To keep dancers energized all night, HC Hofstra sold an assortment of Neuro Drink products for just $1 each! Students loved the selection of our Neuro Sonic and Neuro Bliss flavors and we even held an impromptu Twitter Giveaway to people who followed @HCHofstra on the spot!
All proceeds from the night went towards girls’ education in developing countries. With an admission price of $5 a person, combined with sales profits from the tables, STF made a whopping $2,849—enough to send 3 girls to school!
She’s the First funds girls’ schooling all over the world, from Guatemala to Ghanna, so that any girl can “be the first” in her family to receive an education. For more information in She’s the First, visit www.shesthefirst.org
