Name: Mitch Holson
Major: Film Production
Hometown: Frederick, MD
Why did you choose your major?
I began as an actor from a very young age, being involved in the production of several commercials, short & feature length films as well as TV shows. It was my experience as an actor that ultimately served as the basis for what became my pursuit to the other side of the camera. Film allows me to be emotional – it’s my outlet to emote. With all those hidden anxieties, insecurities and passions depicted on screen.
What is your favorite season?
Favorite season is winter. I love the snow and snowboarding.
What is on the top of your bucket list?
It’s my dream to shoot for National Geographic on an international scale. Also, to get married.
What TV show most closely describes your life?
Impractical Jokers most closely describes my life: offensive, very spontaneous, secretive and comical.
What is your dream pet?
I want a monkey so bad, or a husky puppy.
If you could pick three artists to perform at a concert, who would they be?
I’d invite Marshmello, Ed Sheeran and Labrynth, three of several favorite artists.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be the director of photography for major motion pictures, and to shoot international commercials for large brands.
How would you describe yourself in one word?
“Driven.”
What is a quote you live by?
My quote I always adhere comes from my dad: “I’ve always hated the title of ‘manager’ … people don’t want to be ‘managed,’ people want to be led.”
If you could get coffee with anyone who would it be?
I would get coffee with Ron Howard, one of my all-time favorite directors who also grew up in the film acting industry, but broke away to the other side of the camera.
