Keeping Up With Kendall and Kylie: Which Sister Are You?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

It is seemingly impossible to live life without knowing who the Kardashian’s are. As referred to as “America’s First Family” by publications such as Cosmopolitan Magazine these women have taken over the pop culture world through almost ever outlet. Even the two girls who don’t even have the name “Kardashian” yet fall under the umbrella of socialite royalty are unbelievably successful women at the ages of 18 and 20. What is so fascinating about Kylie and Kendall is that they have grown up together yet have taken off in completely different ways.  Which Jenner do you see yourself in?

Exuding confidence way beyond your years would be the most obvious trait shared with the Instagram star Kylie Jenner. Sexuality seems to be her biggest selling point when it comes to her brand.  If you find yourself to be showy and one to break the rules, I would say you are more of a Kylie then a Kendall. You never leave the house without a Snapchat worthy look on. (Even if that means a matching track suit and full makeup on your “buming it” days.) You are also willing to do what makes you happy no matter what others opinions are. Dating an older man may not be everyone’s ideal situation but you are going to do what you want. As Kylie, you are determined to be successful in your endeavors. This lip connoisseur takes what makes her unique and brands it for a fortune. Some say success is measured when your first name stands without your last (Beyoncé, Madonna, Cher). Kylie doesn’t need Jenner or Kardashian to sell out of her lip kit after every release, and you one day aspire to be a one name brand as well. Lastly to complete your Kylie persona, you have been sucked into your full millennial self, as you are unable to be away from social media for more than 5 minutes. Yes, you may document every move you make, but you are fabulous so why shouldn’t you?

Tomboy meets ultimate super model when referring to Kendall Jenner.  One obvious sign that you are more of a Kendall then Kylie is that you prefer spending your days riding horses or dirt bikes to shopping. You are often times quiet and do not feel the need to always be in the spotlight. With this you have less of a social media presence and what goes on in your personal life is your business only. The fun thing about being quiet is that you love to stir the pot by posting a risky Instagram to show everyone you are more than just surface deep. As for your professional life, when you are in your element you are fully devoted to being the best. You set your goals at a young age and wont stop until you are number one at what you do. You personally may not be one of the most successful young models of today but in your field you will one day be a Kendall. When it comes to style you are very chic and put together. Unlike your counterpart Kylie, you avoid the purple hair and crazy ensembles. You would rock an expensive designer look to prove you mean business.  But never forget that with everything you do you have a subtle edge.

Kendall and Kylie are their own people, and you are too, which is what makes you unique. Having a little Jenner in you and relating to young woman who are doing what they can to be the best is something to aspire to. So whether you are a little more Kylie or have that Kendall edge to you, rock those qualities because you can use it to your best advantage.
