1. What drew you to Hofstra University?

I first applied to Hofstra after a friend raved about his freshman year here. When I visited and saw all of the opportunities I could be involved with – I was hooked.

2. What orgs and clubs are you involved in?

I am the producer of Hofstra Today, which is a part of the HEAT Network. I am also a series coordinating producer for a feature show For Your Island. And when I’m not in the communications building you can find me with people from Zeta Phi Eta, the communications pre-professional organization I joined last semester.

3. How do you think being a TV and journalism major helps you in the long run?

I think that studying both Television and Journalism gives me a strong skill set in both aspects of broadcast journalism — which is the industry I hope to work in after I graduate. I think as a producer, the more you understand about the different aspects of a broadcast, the better you are able to use all of your resources to their fullest.

4. When you have time for yourself (which I know is limited) what do you like to do?

When I find the time, I like to go hiking, see concerts, travel, watch TV and movies, and — of course — watch the news.

5. Where do you imagine yourself after graduation?

Ah, the “g” word. Scary. After I graduate, I hope to be working in an entry level news production position at a national or local station in New York or Boston. It’s a little unnerving to not know where you’ll be in just a few months time, but I am excited to get out there and start working in the field!
