HU Style: Best Fall Jackets

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Fall is in the air! That means you need a fall jacket to keep you comfortably warm on those chilly mornings and evenings. Here are four of the best fall jackets:

Military: You can’t go wrong with a green military jacket. This trend doesn’t seem to be going out of style any time soon and they are perfect for fall weather. You can find them shorter or longer and with or without buttons. Some have zippers and cute collars. The best thing about this jacket is it matches with all your fall colors (browns, yellows, and reds).

Leather: A leather jacket is for those days when it’s just a bit cooler. Leather is designed to keep you warm. You can find leather jackets in all styles too! Brown and black are the most common colors. Leather is a classic look, and can be dressed down and up.

Cardigan: Sweater material cardigans couldn’t be more perfect fall jackets. Not to mention they come in pretty much any color. They are comfy and can be worn with any shirt. Cardigans are also great for layering, which is a fall fashion must!

Trench Coat: The trench coat has been around since the First World War. Then came the Burberry Fashion house in the 1950’s, who is famous for their trench coats. Trench coats come in all colors and lengths. They are one of the most versatile jackets, which is why they work great for fall! Throw one on over any outfit and you’ll be prepared for the unpredictable fall weather.
