Hollywood’s Hottest Irish Men

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, collegiettes! While you’re clanging glasses of green beer and enjoying the local parades, be sure to take a moment and give thanks for all the hot (and I mean seriously HOT) Irish celebrities that bare a lineage to the rolling hills of Ireland. Here’s HC Hofstra’s list of some of the Hottest Irish Celebrities, complete with some old-favorites and some surprises.

Ryan Reynolds:
This Canadian born actor is has Irish ancestry on both his mother’s and father’s side. In his new film Safe House with Denzel Washington, Reynolds displays strength, wit and some serious washboard abs.

Dudley O’Shaughnessy:
In case you live under a rock and haven’t seen Rihanna’s insanely popular music video to the song “We Found Love” (currently at over 146 million YouTube views), O’Shaughnessy plays Rihanna’s sexy and tumultuous love interest. The Britain-born boxer turned model is of English, Irish, African and Caribbean descent.

Darren Criss:

Gorgeous green eyes, a nerdy sense of humor and the ability to serenade you at the drop of a hat. Glee star Darren Criss seems to have it all. Add on the fact that he has a cool mix of Irish, Filipino and Spanish ancestry and let the swooning begin.

Bradley Cooper:
Everybody needs a little dose of funny, smart-ass alpha male every now and then. And Cooper knows just how to give you your fix. The Hangover and Hangover 2 actor, named 2011’s “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine is half Irish.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers:
This Dublin-born actor plays King Henry VII in the HBO series The Tudors where he seduces just about every female of in the feudal system. With full lips and a thick Irish accent, it’s easy to take a history lesson from him.

Kris Humphries:
Don’t let a messy, public divorce cloud your judgment from seeing Humphries’ potential. This New Jersey Nets forward is 6’9”, has no commitment issues and is half Irish; these traits alone make him a diamond in the rough.

Colin Farrell:

You can’t have a list without the original Irish bad boy. Colin Farrell; chain smoking and swearing his way through Hollywood and scooping up whatever girl he pleases. The Dublin-born actor’s sex appeal is undeniable. He has been connected to Rosario Dawson, Denise Richards and Britney Spears, just to name a few.

Are there any Irish celebs you think we missed that should have made the list? Let us know in the comments below and have a safe and happy St. Patty’s Day collegiettes!
