8 Everyday Problems Only Short Girls Understand

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

Due to genetics or my long time coffee addiction, I’ve have always been height-challenged. At 5’1”, I was never the “tall one” in the group; and since arriving at college this difference has become more noticeable. Tall girls, consider yourselves lucky. Here is what us short girls have to deal with everyday…

When you’re walking as fast as you can but your short legs just cannot catch up…

Being asked by a customer if you’re old enough to be working

People say “You’re so short!” as if you’ve never noticed.

You have to sit dangerously close to the steering wheel, to reach the pedals

Your pant’s bottoms getting soaked when it rains.

Everyone thinks you’re under the age of 14

“Short” Jeans are not short. At all. It’s all lies.

Never being able to reach anything.

But fellow short girls, don’t fret! At least we can fit into small places, make other people get us things because we can’t reach them, and wear ridiculously high heels.

I'm a senior Theatre Arts Production major at Hofstra University. I'm almost always at rehearsal, reading plays, seeing plays, blogging about plays, or fangirling over plays. My likes include giraffes, Britney Spears, American history and coffee.
