Living in a college dorm on campus often means eating the food from the dining halls. The food can get repetitive and boring, and sometimes you really miss a good home cooked meal. Cooking can sometimes be too overwhelming for some and can get too complicated. Luckily, we’ve come up with six easy meals that work in a college dorm.

Quesadillas

Quesadillas are so easy to make, and are also very versatile. You can have a basic quesadilla, which just requires tortillas and shredded cheese, for lunch or dinner, or you can make a breakfast quesadilla. Breakfast quesadillas usually include eggs or bacon and sometimes even salsa. Throw some chicken in there, and you have yourself a chicken quesadilla. Quesadillas also only take about 10-20 minutes to cook, making for a quick and easy meal when you’re in between classes.

Mac and Cheese

Mac and cheese is one of the best comfort foods, and a super easy meal to make. There is mac and cheese in a box, but you can also make it yourself. You only need pasta, preferably shell-shaped, but any pasta shape will do, and cheese. Like the pasta, any cheese will do, like shredded cheddar or mozzarella. This is such a creamy and cheesy dish that will not only be tasty, but also comforting.

Ramen

Ramen is a meal that you can either opt to cook the simple, classic way or you can add items like fresh vegetables or eggs to spice it up. Adding other components to your ramen can help make it feel like a real meal, and fill you up. It is also really easy to add your own spices to it. Ramen is also cheap, comes in a pre-measured serving and the noodles are quick to cook.

Tacos

Tacos are great for an individual or a group. All you need is beef, which can always be swapped out with vegetarian or vegan substations, and some tortillas to heat up and put your taco meat in. The toppings are also endless. You can add onions, guacamole, salsa, corn, cheese, sour cream or literally anything else on top of your tacos.

Pasta

Pasta is another one of those meals that can be made in so many different ways, while being easy and affordable to make. You can use linguine pasta or even pasta alternatives like soba noodles. There are also so many different sauces you can use, like marinara or alfredo sauce. You can keep it plain or add toppings such as any type of meats, cheese or even herbs like parsley or cilantro. You can make pasta in big batches too, so you even have some leftovers, and who doesn’t love leftovers!

Breakfast sandwiches

Breakfast sandwiches are great and easy to make when you have early mornings, especially when you need fuel to stay awake during your 9 am. Any type of bread like a bagel or english muffin is perfect for breakfast sandwiches because they hold everything together. The insides of the sandwich can vary. You can fill your sandwich with eggs, cheese, bacon or anything else that suits you. Breakfast sandwiches can also be made in a single pan.

These meals are so easy, so quick and so versatile to fit everyone’s taste buds! These are perfect for a college student’s schedule.
