Pinja: This year I started my Christmas vacation with a romantic weekend getaway in London with my boyfriend. We spent a lot of time exploring the city outside the city centre which was super nice because it also meant less crowds. And of course, since in England, we just had to dedicate one afternoon for a traditional afternoon tea. I can warmly recommend Bea’s of Bloomsbury for the experience, but be warned – there will be enough food for an army, so don’t go there unless you’re hungry!

Lyra: Christmas break has always meant relaxation and restoration for me: taking bubble baths, eating to my heart’s content and spending time with family and friends. This year was no different and the Finnish winter has never looked as beautiful. Here’s to a wonderful new year and new opportunities!

Satu: I spent Christmas at my parents’ and cuddled with this little creature (and I don’t mean the pig!). She had obviously missed me since I barely got her off my lap to take this photo.

Laura: I visited family in Seinäjoki with my boyfriend and we pretty much just ate for three days straight! But then again, who doesn’t love Christmas foods?

Aino: I visited family in Turku and enjoyed the beautiful weather and relaxed university town vibe.

Anna: I got one of these bad boys for Christmas! Pikkuveljen Paras is a nostalgic box of candy for many Finns: elementary school field trips were often funded by students selling these from door to door. I was a shy kid, so ringing the doorbells of my neighbours was pretty nerve-wracking – but the feeling of accomplisment after succeeding in selling one of these was worth it. (And so were the field trips to amusement parks.) This particular box is currently 75% empty, and I have a dentist’s appointment in a couple weeks time…

Katariina: I got so impatient waiting for the presents so I began pretending to be a model.
