Deutsches Currywurst Museum, Berlin, Germany

Opened in 2009 to commemorate the food invention by Berliner Herta Heuwer, currywurst became a cult following not only in Germany but also around the world. For fans of juicy curried sausage, the museum proposes enjoying an interactive stay in fragrant spice chambers, observing high quality in design and installations, learning the history of the museum and playing with senses of smell, sight and sound. Who wouldn’t want to explore a good sense of smell through sniffing stations, sound through audio stations playing currywurst-themed songs, and sight through the virtual game “Curry Up”! Want to have a relaxing rest in between, do it on a sausage sofa.

The Dessert Museum, Manila, Philippines

Have you ever been on a mouth-watering adventure? The Dessert Museum’s a visually tasty paradise, where you suddenly turn into Alice and set off for a trip through a giant donut hole into the Donut Room, then to the Marshmallow Room, where it’s raining mallows, after to the Ice Cream Room with a wonderful ceiling installation of colorful balloons sitting in huge crunchy ice cream cones. Apart from that, if you’re dreaming of stepping into a gumball, the large Gumball Room is just for you, while cotton candy lovers can experience the fluffiest and cloudiest atmosphere in the Cotton Candy room. Take amazing photos, learn new fun facts about each dessert, and make your visit the most sugar- and knowledge-filled experience ever.

The Museum of Pizza, New York, USA

Always the best and most reliable friend when we’re hungry, pizza’s considered to be a democratically-elected champion of food. Believe me, you journey into the Museum of Pizza won’t be boring! Get ready to experience pizza-inspired immersive rooms, a “cheese cave” with pieces of cheese hanging down from walls, a “pizza art gallery”, where you can treat yourself to a bunch of instagrammable backgrounds for photos as well as a “pizza beach”. Whether you’ll have a chance to taste a pizza remains to be seen. This year, the museum takes place in NY, in October from the 13th to the 28th, so those who’re currently in the US, hurry up!

Frietmuseum, Bruges, Belgium

Described as “The first and only museum dedicated to potato fries”, the museum focuses on the unique history of fries that are known and beloved worldwide both by children and adults. The museum’s collection introduces the visitors to the history of a potato’s origin, gives the answers to questions on how it was brought to Belgium and what’s the secret behind making good fries. Visitors can also experience a walk to the basement of the building dated back to the 14th century, sample a taste of Belgium fries and learn with what they are usually served. Don’t miss experiencing the most characteristic product of Belgian cuisine.
