Summer is nearly here and so is stressing over summer jobs. Where can you find a job? What are the co-workers going to be like? What if the job is really stressful? What if it’s really boring? But one thing you won’t have to stress about is what to wear to work, because we are here to help with that! So let us present to you three outfits to suit different work environments and situations.

1) Relaxed Office

A structured summer dress with a fun but not-too-crazy print is a good investment as it can be dressed up or down depending on how formal your workplace is. Pair it with a denim jacket and tan accessories for a cool, relaxed look that is versatile enough for different situations and temperatures.

2) More Formal Office

When you need to look professional but also don’t want to die of a heat stroke, wide-legged culottes are the answer, offering both comfort and style. A fitted top and block heels will keep the trousers from looking too overwhelming and you are guaranteed to look office-appropriate even on the hottest days of the summer!

3) Outdoors

If you are working outdoors, comfort is key when choosing what to wear but it doesn’t have to mean compromising on style. On a hot day a white t-shirt is a lifesaver, protecting your shoulders from sunburn while keeping you as cool as possible. (Beware of weird tan lines, though.) If your workplace is okay with shorts, they probably still have some guidelines as to how short the shorts can be. The men’s section at your favourite clothing shop is worth a visit when hunting for shorts that offer a bit more coverage.

Sunglasses are a must for any outdoorsy summer job, but it’s polite to avoid mirror lenses if you’re working with customers, so people can see your face and don’t have to stare at their own reflection when they talk to you. And don’t forget to apply lots of sunscreen!

Wherever you’ll be working and however you’ll be dressing this summer, the most important thing is to feel comfortable and confident. You got this!
