Why I Think My Birthday Deserves to Be More Celebrated

Being a December baby sucks. For as long as I can remember, my birthday has always been clumped together with Christmas in an attempt to make everything cheaper and easier. So I’ve only ever gotten one celebration and one gift for both occasions. Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely grateful for every single gift that I’ve ever received. It just sucks that it will either always say “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Christmas” as a funny attempt to combine both.

I strongly believe that December babies deserve better. We should get either two gifts or two celebrations. If you celebrate Christmas, you buy everyone a Christmas gift, and you usually buy people gifts for their birthdays. But not for December babies.

I think birthdays are so special. They’re all about celebrating the day that someone that you love was brought into this world. And I always love celebrating my friends’ birthdays. It’s THEIR day and I will cherish them! But I feel like that same energy isn’t reciprocated to me. It might be the Leo moon and Leo rising (if you’re into astrology), but I genuinely don’t feel the same love. Maybe I give out too much love and people just aren’t physically, mentally, nor emotionally able to reciprocate that amount of love, but I want the people in my life to at least try.

For this year, I just want everyone to put their all into my birthday. My little sister’s birthday is on December 25, so I’ll be at home anyways.

December 16 is now officially Mary day!
