I struggle a lot with emotions; I’m either overly emotional for no reason or have none at all. I tend to suppress an unhealthy amount and keep chugging along with my busy life. Luckily, I do recognize the signs of the box being “too full” and know when I need a break. One of my ways to cope is to grab some snacks, good friends and a bottle of wine (or two, or three…) and throw a sad movie marathon!
Here are my favorite sad movies (in no particular order):
1. P.S. I Love You
It’s two hours and six minutes of an emotional rollercoaster which gets me EVERY. TIME. For sure in my top 5 favorite movies of all time so seriously, if you have not seen it- what are you doing???
2. Adrift
WOW. This movie is based on a true story (which is insane) and executed flawlessly. Shailene Woodley is such a great actress in general, but I feel as if she thrives when portraying the “in-love action badass” role.
3. A Star is Born
Bradley Cooper… singing?? I’m already crying tf. Who would do that to my heart? Rude.
4. Titanic
Call me basic but I prefer classic. Like c’mon, who doesn’t melt when they see young Leo?
5. The Last Song
If you didn’t cry when watching this, there is a 98% chance you are a robot. Fair warning- watching it after the recent events causes even more heartache so good luck my friend.
Of course, I cannot end this article without an honorable mention: This Is Us.
I’m. Obsessed.
Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia have such good on-screen chemistry, I thought they were together in real life. Season 4 just aired and let me tell you, the writers for that show know exactly what they’re doing.
