Tips to Navigate the New Semester

Many of us are already starting to feel the anxiety that comes with a jam-packed schedule.  There’s always just so much to do and not enough time in a day.  It seems almost impossible to juggle school, work, volunteering, internships, clubs, friends, and relationships all into one schedule. These tips and tricks can inspire you to make the most of your semester, nothing is more fabulous than a girl who can balance work and play!

 

1. Set goals for yourself. 

Ladies, dream big! Set goals that are attainable; both short-term goals and long-term ones.  That way, you have the motivation to continue to push through the long nights of studying after the fun long weekend. 

 

2. Prioritize your time.

Organization is key! Keep a planner up to date so that you know exactly when you have projects or exams coming up.  In addition, keep track of when big social events are taking place around campus so you can plan to study earlier.  Planning ahead  will help prevent schoolwork from piling up.

3. #TreatYoSelf.

The saying is true, the happiest girls are the prettiest!  The key to happiness is to take care of yourself, so don’t forget to make time for YOU.  Our  campus is one short bus ride away from Waikiki. A few hours at the beach, or a night of window shopping will do the trick. if you’re like me and prefer an indoor activity, my favorite way of treating myself is by watching a few episodes of Friends on Netflix and eating some chocolate!

4. Burn some calories!

Exercise helps you  not only physically but also mentally.  Going to the gym can give you a break from studying and provide you the opportunity to relieve some stress.  Exercising with a friend can be a great way to start  because they can be your workout buddy and you can hold each other accountable.

 

5. Remember, sleep is not for the weak.

As much as we want to be superwoman and do everything, sometimes we are not physically capable of doing so.  Even the most fabulous of girls need their beauty sleep, so make sure to maintain a healthy sleeping schedule to the best of your ability. However, if you cannot manage to sleep, a coffee in hand will be your best friend.
