Let’s take a moment to appreciate the barista’s at UH Manoa Starbucks. If it wasn’t for them, where else would you get your “coffee-high” on? The closest Starbucks would be in Manoa Valley, but the Starbucks on Campus is in the HEART of the campus! It is on the way to your classes, work, or library.

Let’s appreciate the baristas for waiting a few minutes on your order and take the time to write your drinks on the cups; whether it be a simple drink such as a venti Double Chocolate Chip Frappucino, or a more complicated drink like putting a grande into a venti making a Vanilla Bean Frappucino with soy and a “floating” shot with NO WHIP, but adding a caramel drizzle on top. Sometimes even making a crazy “secret”menu recipe such as the Twix Frappucino, or a Wendy’s Frosty Frappucino (Yes, that is real. Yes, it is good).

Also we must appreciate the times when the baristas clean up the spills the customers make. While the customers are freezing and looking at the sticky contents dripping off the counter the baristas are there assuring the customer that is okay and we will be glad to make you a new one.

Remember to be patient with the baristas if the drink takes a little bit more time than expected. They understand that you are in NEED of your coffee but the baristas want to make your drink amazing for you and sometimes we take a little bit more time, or there is a short amount of staff on board so one barista has to do the cold bar themselves as well as top the drinks one at a time.

Lastly, let’s appreciate the baristas and not forget to THANK THEM once drinks are made because they are hardworking employees who work 5 hour shifts or 12 hour shifts, and some are possibly full-time college students. So thank you Starbucks baristas of UH Manoa! We appreciate your hard work for relieving our coffee-high!
