The twirlers at the Univeristy of Hawaii have always been beautiful, and it was no surprise to see a gorgous new girl front and center at the football games. This weeks Campus Celebrity is freshmen, Emily Dooms.

How are you liking the University of Hawaii so far? I love it! The atmosphere is amazing, and I love being apart of the ʻohana here.
Where do you see yourself in five years? Hopefully in medical school! *fingers crossed*
What are you passionate about? Feminism is a big deal for me, and in general just being a rights activist- the idea that I can help people is really what keeps me going.
How did you get started in twirling? I started twirling about 15 years ago when my mother started a twirling group in the city I lived in. As time progressed, I fell in love with twirling and now, more than a decade later, I’m here at UH living my dream!
What do you like best about twirling? The opportunities the sport has presented to me: I’ve competed 4 times as part of Team USA and medaled 7 times in different countries around the globe, but more importantly I’ve travelled to different countries and met friends I’ve kept at my side for years. I get to do what I love with people I love, what could be better?
What are you most excited for this year? I’m SO excited to see the student section at all of the games I plan to twirl for this year! It’s great as an outsider to see everyone supporting their school, I love to hear students cheering for our teams. Go ‘Bows!
