This week not only marked the official first signs of SPRING, but also celebrated the ultimate collegiette holiday: St. Patrick’s Day! The Fords emerged from the end of the rainbow to share in the golden-sunshine spirit. Jolly Haver-chaun’s were spotted lying out on Founder’s, hydrating on HCA green, and generally avoiding all forms of work. One thing that was not avoided however, was the spirit of Fordification at the St. Pattie’s day celebrations. Everyone was green with excitement for the Saturday night festivities after a long sunny Saturday afternoon of watching the Ford’s sports games and dusting the clovers off of those summer dresses. Carrying the cheerful spring mood over to the night, everyone came to Lunt looking to get lucky by filling their pots of gold…The party featured a deep lineup of DJ’s sponsored by Sound Machine and a mosh-pit of green lads and lasses all enjoying their Irish water-bombs.
A double rainbow was spotted at the party, with the two almost (K)impossible to tell apart. Watch out, this double team could get you in a bit of trouble so make sure you know which side of the clover you are dancing with before making a move. Down at the apartments, one cheery Haver-chaun could be heard serenading the night with his rendition of an Irish tune. I don’t think the song was worthy of a classical ballet, but it sure did capture the fun spirit of Haverford coming together this weekend to usher in the second half of the semester. However, ladies, some of you obviously did not follow Mr. Straight-Shooter’s advice…The combination of high wasted skirts and too much mid-drift blatantly broke his rules, so be sure to brush up on his tips before next weekend to magnetize those fine lads.
Ford’s were getting down all night long, some Philing up the dance floor with their interesting interpretations of the Irish jig. Such a horde of green gathered in Lunt that at one point the wee-basement couldn’t handle the crowd. But never the less, the night was a great success and set the tone for the last few weeks of school. Haverfest is fast approaching, and with the “Where’s Waldo Theme” this year, you will definitely want to join the crowd for all of the Spring festivities. You may even be able to spot me in the crowd, basking in the sunshine in between corn-hole games and carnival rides. Also coming up, there is rumored to be an outside concert on Llyod green taking place in April and of course everyone will be scrambling to lock down dates for Senior Party. So not to fear, the jolly spirit of this weekend will not disappear!
Keep your eyes open and your lips locked or you could be spotted next…
See you next weekend for another round up of Fordifications and party reports.
