Start the New Year and the new semester off in style with cute and sophisticated accessories for your newest holiday gifts.

As iPads are gaining popularity with the newly released iPad 2, more fashion brands are creating their own cases with signature prints. Brands such as Kate Spade, C Wonder, Ted Baker, and Marc Jacobs are all taking advantage of the trend with brand new lines of iPad and iPhone 4 accessories to start off the new year in style. So stand out in the library and on your way to class with one of these high-fashion statements for affordable prices.

The C Wonder cases are subtle yet sleek, featuring solid colors and the new company’s signature “C” logo embroidered in gold ($58/68). On the other hand, the Marc Jacob line feature brighter colors and bold prints, such as snakeskin, bright pink, and faux-fur linings ($68/78). For the more understated yet sophisticated look, both Kate Spade and Ted Baker offer quilted cases in signature colors such as black, red, and cream ($70/85). My personal pick is the Kate Spade “Signature Spade Quilted iPad Sleeve” for its classic quilted exterior and surprising pop of color inside. Many of these brands also feature iPhone and Laptop cases that will be sure to add a some style to you technology.

For a more unique look, check out Etsy.com, a site that acts as a marketplace for handme gifts and accessories. Libbie & Winston designs features a “Bold Moroccan Monogramed Personalized iPad Case” ($55.00) that allows you to customize your color, font, and initials and will be sure to make you stand out from the crowd at Magill. In case you are looking for a gift for a significant other, possibly to remind that pre-winter break flame that you were thinking of them over the holidays, Etsy.com also offers iPad and iPhone cases geared toward men. Check out the “Wood Grain iPad 2 Skin” from iCarbons and be sure to WOW with a case that is definitely unique and thoughtful ($29.95).

With the release of the iPhone 4, Apple has expanded their range of iPhone cases so now you can even make a statement with your phone. Since you know you are glued to it day and night, why not add some flare to your new iPhone and say goodbye to bulky and boring cases? Fashion meets function with Uncommon and Kate Spade cases featured in almost all Apple stores and on Apple.com ($34.95).

In case you were lucky enough to find a super cute iPod Nano in your stocking this year, be sure to keep it glammed up even at the gym with the“iWatchz Q Series” watch that keeps your Nano safe in place while you work out or study ($24.95). It comes in a variety of cute wristband colors and the ultimate accessory for Haverford girls on the go.
