Move over Great Lash, there’s a new drugstore mascara in town. For years I bought into the hype of Maybelline’s Great Lash as the best mascara around, but failed to realize any tangible results. My favorite mascara to date is the kind that coats your lashes in plastic tubes for easy removal, but you can only buy it at Sephora or in department stores. I also read that you’re only supposed to keep mascara for a maximum of two months. Bacteria gets into the tube every time you remove the brush and if you hold on to that sucker for too long, you could be setting yourself up for a lovely bout of pink eye. Instead of paying $20+ for mascara that I’m going to inevitably toss after a few uses, I’ve done some research into the best drugstore brands. My favorite so far is Revlon’s Grow Luscious. It has a nice thick brush like DiorShow to give you extra volume. I also loved the length it gave me without clumping. It claims to actually grow your eyelashes, but I’ve chalked this claim up to a bit of marketing hyperbole. I also loved it because I find that my eyes can be especially sensitive in the Spring due to allergies and this formula doesn’t irritate them.
