Best Study Spots on Campus

At the illustrious Hampton University, the scenery is like no other which makes studying even more productive. I have encountered several study spots on campus that give me an aesthetically pleasing and motivating feel while I am getting my work done. Now that the school year has started, here are a few study areas I think are the best and some additional options too:

Although studying outside by the waterfront can be a little tricky because of the Wi-Fi and of course no outlets, it is a pleasant spot to go over notes, and being an avid reader, I enjoy sitting next to the waterfront while reading a nice book. In addition to the waterfront, Legacy Park is a beautiful area as well to minimally complete school work and study the best you can. And while you’re at it, maybe it will be great to gain more knowledge on the notable figures we have out there!

I feel this is an area students tend to miss, but the second floor of the dining hall, way in the back that overlooks the parking lot and part of campus, is a chill spot. The quiet study spot is a great option to get a bite to eat while studying in the comfy chairs. Despite the fact that it’s the dining hall, it is extremely peaceful.

You can never go wrong with the library and I believe it is the best study spot on campus. You have access to everything – books, outlets, Wi-Fi, tech help, computers, printers, and silence. You can go from floor-to-floor to find what area helps you accomplish schoolwork better. My favorite area is primarily the 3rd floor on the bridge. I enjoy the natural light coming through, and the openness of the bridge does not feel confined to me.

Besides my favorites, while the Student Center is constantly filled with noise, there are some calm areas there that you can find to study. It is personally not my favorite as that area can be too distracting, but you can make it work if you don’t mind the commotion. Starbucks is a great option too, or even Tropical. I have been in both places and they are quiet and it feels like I’m away from the campus bubble, but it is also a lengthy walk if you are far away from those two.

You should feel at ease while studying and finishing up some work, so feel free to try out one of these spots that accommodates everything you need to have a lovely study day!
