With new seasons comes new fashion trends. If you’ve been wearing the same clothes or style for several years, sometimes it’s fun to revamp your wardrobe. People change and evolve and your clothing should reflect that. Buying a whole new wardrobe can be extremely expensive and in many cases, college students don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend on clothing. Here are some fun ways to revamp your wardrobe on a budget.

  1. Choose your new style. The first step is to figure out what style you want to recreate. You also don’t have to choose a specific one. You can mix styles that suit you. If you need help on what type of look you’re going for, websites like Pinterest can help. You can also look on Pinterest to find clothing items you like and attempt to recreate them.

  2. Second, thrift stores are your best friend! If you’re trying to find clothes that fit your style for an inexpensive price, check your local thrift store. They have a variety of nice clothes and occasionally you’ll find some vintage items. They have racks of items so there truly is something for everyone. There are concerns about thrifting during covid but, as long as you wash everything before you wear it you’ll be good.

  3. Next, donate your old clothing. Instead of throwing out clothes that don’t suit your style, donate it. It’s possible that someone else will like or love it so why not pass it on. Besides putting it in donation boxes, shelters are always taking clothing items for those in need. Make sure you wash your items before donating. Also, when you donate to places such as Goodwill, you can actually get a tax right off.

  4. Finally, don’t throw out all your clothes. Many people think that revamping a wardrobe means starting new. It does not! It means removing certain pieces and adding new ones. You can revamp certain clothes you already have by adding patches, cutting patterns and adding broaches to them.

Revamping your wardrobe is a fun way to get creative and express your style. These tips are a sure way for you to stand out and do so on a budget!
