Tips On How To Make Your Prescription Glasses Stylish

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

Beauty and fashion are all things we love dearly. Buying new clothes, putting together outfits, doing our hair, nails, etc. gets us in a mood that can’t be explained. Fashion is always based on the person and what their definition is. It’s also how you execute your idea from being in your mind and turning it into reality. The most important factor in fashion (some would say, aka me) are the accessories you get to make your outfit pop. Glasses have always been a fashion statement in my life.  As an accessory that I have, over time, I figured out ways to make them stylish or not too boring. So here are some tips for my girlies with prescription glasses on how you can make your glasses work for your style.

Tip #1: Explore Different Frame Shapes

Frame shapes are super important when it comes to making your prescription glasses blend with your clothing style. The different shapes make you look different and feel different. I’ve found that circular frames tend to go with more eccentric outfits while square frames are definitely for more classy and sophisticated looks. When choosing your frames, always make sure that first and foremost they’re frames that fit you.

Tip #2: Explore Different Frame Colors

The color of your frames is what draws attention to you. Explore more frame colors than black, brown, and grey. Sometimes it’s hard to get out of your comfort zone, with bright colors, but trust me, it’ll do you justice. Also, buying frames to match your outfits is something I’ve started doing and it really makes you feel good about your fit, as well as yourself.

Tip #3: Explore Different Frame Patterns

Different patterns on your frames make a statement. If they don’t match your outfit, it’s ok. The color or shape definitely will. The different patterns on your frame will make it more exciting to wear glasses. Glasses are basically your eyes, so why not make it stylish, comfortable, and cute for you.
