Spring Break Essentials

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

As women we tend to sometimes overpack when we`re going on vacation even if it`s only for a short trip. More clothes mean a bigger suitcase which in turn means spending more money to check your bag at the airport. So, how exactly can we avoid the infamous overpack this spring break? It`s simple. Only pack the essentials! While these items can change depending on your destination, here is a list of essentials every woman should have in her suitcase for their Spring Break trip:

PLENTY of underwear: One thing you can never have too much of is underwear. With many popular spring break destinations having extremely warm weather, you may find yourself showering more than often. A good rule of thumb is to multiply the number of days you`re away by 2 and pack that amount of undies. Remember, you never want to pack just thongs and your good lace because mother nature has a funny way of coming unexpectedly. You`re away from home and being prepared is most important.

At least two bathing suits: What`s better than one cute bathing suit? Two. During spring break there are tons of pool/beach parties so having options is important. You never know who you might run into so, you not only want to look your best but, you always want to shock the crowd. Switching it up gives you versatility and

Cute Sandals: Let`s be honest here. Heels are cute and make you feel grown and sexy, but they hurt like hell. With so much walking and dancing, you don`t want to be the friend with no shoes on in the club because you didn`t pack sandals. Sandals can be sexy too! Save yourself the pain and embarrassment and go for a more relaxed look this spring break. Their super functional and can take you from the beach to a rooftop party.

Hygiene, Hygiene, Hygiene: THIS can not be stressed enough. Women sweat just like men and we need to be prepared for the possibility of not so sweet smells. If you`re a heavy sweater carry a travel size deodorant and a sample size perfume in your bag. Always have gum or breath mints because you could come face to face with the man of your dreams at any moment and you don`t want bad breath to scare him off. As far as your “lady parts” go, keep feminine wipes on hand to freshen up if showering isn`t an immediate option. The sun may be out wherever you go and you don`t want sweat or smells to ruin a great outfit.

Hope these Spring Break Essentials helps make your spring break amazing!
