Hampton University’s weather machine turned all the way down this week causing a snow storm and freezing cold temperatures to grace its campus after several months of inconsistent weather. The snow made its way on campus Tuesday evening and stayed overnight. Most students embraced the winter wonderland with hopes of classes being cancelled Wednesday morning. Nevertheless, things didn’t go as well as they expected.

Hampton University was one of the very few schools that remained open after the storm. Instead of cancelling classes, the administration decided to delay classes until noon on Tuesday and stop all evening classes and activities around 4 p.m. Classes were also delayed on Thursday until 11 a.m. The Rho Alpha Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. even had to cancel a few of their week’s events.

The weekend is here and the snow is disappearing, but there is word that another snow storm will occur within the next few days. Whether classes are in session or not, stay warm and drive cautiously. You never know what the next storm may bring.
