New Year’s Resolutions are the perfect way to begin to reinvent or improve yourself. But no one really takes those silly resolutions seriously, do they? I mean, how many times have you told your girlfriends about the New Year workout plan you’re on and heard them snicker a sort of “good luck with that” laugh. This year, your girlfriends will rue that shady side-eye because I’ve got ways for you to actually follow through with your New Year Resolutions.
Keep Your Eyes on The Prize
The cliché “Out of sight, out of mind” definitely applies here. Do whatever it takes to keep reminding yourself of the goal at hand. Using sticky notes is an effective way to give yourself prompts. Encourage and motivate yourself on these notes. Post them in places you are sure to see them and you’re bound to remember and keep your motivation up!
Speak it into Existence
We all have a friend that loves to tell us when she’s on a new diet or fitness plan. Be that friend! Talk about your goals and the progress you want to see. Pump yourself up because the more you speak it, the more you’ll believe it.
Accountability
Find a friend or family member that truly cares about your personal progression. Have them hold you accountable and check on you every week. Having to answer to someone makes you more likely to complete a task, especially if that someone is a person you love or respect.
Push Yourself!
All of the previous advice is void if you aren’t willing to push yourself to new lengths. You don’t want to be all talk when it comes to your resolutions. A new year is a time for new levels. Push yourself now so you can enjoy the reward later!
