I’m not sure if I’m the only person who is guilty of binge watching Youtube all day long but if you don’t, let me introduce you to five Youtube queens. All five of these Black beauty gurus have not only surpassed the 1 million subscriber mark but did it by being authentically themselves. Jackie, Dearra, Patrica, Alissa, and Aaliyah are my top five beauty influencers for 2020. Hopefully, by this time next year I will be on a “Top Five Youtubers” list like this one. 1. Dearra from DK4L
Dearra is a 23 year old internet star and ½ of the cutest youtube couple. They run the channels: Vlogs By DK4L and De’arra & Ken 4 Life. The vlog channel has 2.66 million subscribers while their main channel has 5.9 million subscribers. Dearra’s personal instagram account has 3.9 million followers. Obviously, we all can agree that the girl is POPPING! I love watching Dearra’s videos not only for her crazy outfit changes every 10 mins but also for her genuine personality. This is one of the only youtube couples that I watch that does not participate in the fake prank fad which, by the way, is not only cringy to watch but is just dumb altogether. Dearra definitely goes in my top 5 for black influencers of 2020!
2. Aaliyah Jay
Miss Aaliyah Jay is definitely in my top 5 black beauty influencers of 2020! I have been a fan of hers for years now and I just love her whole attitude and swag. This New York boss has 1.4 million subscribers on youtube and 1.9 (basically 2 million) instagram followers. I began watching her channel for her hilarious storytimes and everyone remembers her iconic quote: “She wasn’t ugly but she wasn’t me.” PERIODTTTTT!!!! Other than that and obsessing over her invisible lace, I also adore her and her bff Justin’s relationship. Miss Aaliyah Jay definitely belongs on my top 5 of 2020.
3. Patricia Bright
Patricia Bright is my lovely UK beauty influencer. The UK mom has 2.85 million subscribers on youtube and 1.1 million followers on instagram. I love this beauty guru for not only her kind soul and amazing personality but also her cute British accent. More specifically, I love her UK vocabulary – calling pants “trousers” and tennis shoes “trainers.” I love watching her try-on hauls which are so hilarious. When she dances around feeling herself, it reminds me of myself trying on clothes. Overall, Patricia goes in my top 5 of 2020.
4. Alissa Ashley
Alissa Ashley is the blonde short haired beauty guru with the beat face and popping twin sister. She immediately caught my eye. This makeup baddie has 2.01 million subscribers on youtube and 1.1 million followers on instagram. I love her cool, fun, and fresh personality. Alissa is very passionate about her photography which is something I also enjoy and play around with. The tips she gives are very useful when taking my own self portraits. I love watching Alissa’s beauty guru videos as well as just scrolling through her instagram feed to get inspired by some of her photos. She definitely belongs on this list.
5. Jackie Aina
Come on, everyone, sing it with me: “JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE JACKIE…” I had to save my favorite for last. Jackie is the absolute best! I truly enjoy all of her content from her youtube videos to her hilarious meme posts on twitter. The youtube star has 3.32 million subscribers on youtube and 1.5 million subscribers on Instagram. Jackie stays connected to her subscribers on a very personal level. She replies to them on Twitter with embarrassing wig cap photos and face mask selfies regularly online. Her personality and content makes individuals who are not even into beauty fall in love. With everything that she brings to the table, I would be absolutely crazy to leave her out of my top 5.
These hard working ladies definitely belong in my list of top influencers. I am claiming that by this time next year I will be on somebody’s list because I am working extremely hard to build my brand and name in the industry.
