Must Be Fenty on the Brain

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hampton U chapter.

If it isn’t our favorite, Barbadian princess, back with yet another product launch that every makeup loving, Pon de Replay-singing fan wants a hold of. Rihanna has done it again, and this time, literally EVERYONE, can partake. Fenty Beauty’s model lineup is stocked with some your favorite Black Girl Magic sisters including model, Duckie Thot and Slick Woods. To top it off, you know you’ve done well when THE Naomi Campbell raves about your products saying, “it’s about time.”

Campbell was, of course, referring to Rihanna’s latest project release, Fenty Beauty. “It’s 2017, so far all those who are doing it, congratulations. The world is moving so quickly, and you’ve got to move with it,” Campbell explains as she talks about the diversity in Rihanna’s new products for Harper’s Bazaar UK. On September 8, Rih Rih launched her first collection of Fenty Beauty products. This brand has been in the works for two years. Fenty covers a range of 40 shades and tones to match virtually every complexion. Rihanna says she was inspired to create the beauty line due to the gap she was still seeing in the beauty industry that did not accommodate to all skin types.

During the official launch of her line, Rihanna said “In every product, I was like: ‘There needs to be something for a dark-skinned girl, there needs to be something for a really pale girl, there needs to be something in-between.’”

Not only does the singer turned makeup artist carry Pro Filt’r Foundation, but also some of the most popular items include the Trophy Wife Killawat Highlighter and the customizable Match Stix Trio. The Killawat Highlighter even caught the attention of the newly crowned Female No. 1 artist Cardi B. Cardi posted a video on social media of her makeup artists using the highlighter as an eyeshadow. The customizable Match Stix Trio offers a concealer, highlighter, and contour stick completely based on your preference. That’s two matte stix for you to concealer and contour, and one shimmer stick for your highlight.

But wait there’s more! Rihanna has recently announced that she will be releasing a holiday line for Fenty on October 13. This collection is said to include lip glosses and galaxy themed eyeshadow palettes. Rihanna even took to Fenty Beauty’s Instagram sharing a photo of some of the products to be launched with the caption “HOLIDAY COLLECTION. You ready? October 13. @badgalriri

There’s even rumor of a Fenty Wine Collection, which has fans going crazy on Twitter. Although the singer has not commented on the so-called “Fenty Estates Wine and Spirits Company.” rumors fans are certain that there is nothing the pop star can’t do, including wine. Until then, it’s Fenty on the brain, ALL day.

Still can’t get enough? Here’s where to find more Fenty Beauty Products.
