After 10 long years together, Big Sean and JhenĂ© Aiko have broken up. Adding to the long list of long term couples breaking up this year.Â
List that includes some fan favorite couples, Halle Berry and DDG and Victoria Monet and John Gaines.Â
Leaving some people to wonder if long term relationships are possible in this generation.
The internet recently criticized long term couples for not being married but sharing other commitments such as children. Â
In 2012, Sean and Aiko were introduced by producer No I.D. Two years later, both artists starred in the music video of their song, “I Know”, starting rumors of dating.Â
During a performance in 2016, Jhene Aiko and Big Sean shared a kiss on stage and ultimately confirmed their relationship to the public.Â
In 2019, the couple was rumored to have broken up but quickly got back together.Â
The two have been on and off for several years but seem solid in the last few years as they have welcomed a son, Noah Hasani, in 2022. Â
The successful music duo has produced several successful projects and been nominated for several awards individually and collectively.
Insiders close to Aiko have revealed that the breakup was based on wanting more than a partnership. Although sharing a son, Aiko wanted a more formal commitment such as marriage.Â
Allegedly, Big Sean did not agree, causing an end to the ten year relationship.Â
Rumor has circled of Big Sean moving on with a girlfriend but Big Sean has denied those rumors.Â
Despite the internet rhetoric and the internet’s critics, Jhené Aiko and Big Sean plan to move forward in a positive direction for their son, Noah.
